EdChoice Application Instructions

Please follow the instructions below to apply.

We are asking that all families* desiring any tuition assistance apply for EdChoice. This will allow us to reallocate our scholarship, grant, and aid dollars to ensure families receive maximum support. 

*If your child is a Jon Peterson scholarship recipient, please continue to apply for the Jon Peterson scholarship instead of the EdChoice scholarship. This will allow our school to maximize Peterson services and continue to provide the individualized and specialized services needed to thrive and succeed.

To apply for an EdChoice Expansion Scholarship for the 2026-27 school year:

Renewal

For renewal of your EdChoice scholarship (except current 8th graders), please submit the following to edchoice@stbrigid-school.org:   

  1. The renewal application – complete, sign and date (one application per child). The state will accept Electronic Signatures, but it must be a qualified E-Signer ie. Docusign and show a time & date stamp. 2026-2027 Renewal Form
  1. A current proof of address – A utility bill must have both the “billing” and “service” address listed, and the bill must be within the last 90 days.  Electric, gas, and water bills are acceptable. Acceptable Proof of Address  
  1. Income Verification is not required and is optional for renewal applications. Renewing families do not need to complete a new income verification each year. The state will use your Income Verification previously submitted. If your annual household income or household size has changed, families may submit a new income verification application for the next school year. (Fiscal Year 2027). 

In order for St Brigid of Kildare School to have the needed information to award additional tuition assistance for the 2026 – 2027 school year, please submit by March 31st.

New Applicants 

For new applicants (families NOT currently receiving the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship) and current families with incoming Kindergartners, please submit the following to edchoice@stbrigid-school.org:

  1. The 2026-2027 request form – complete, sign, and date (one application per child).

  1. A copy of the student’s birth certificate

  1. Finally, complete the Income Verification process online for the 2026-27 school year. (Fiscal Year 2027) if you do not already have an Income Verification submitted to the state.  If you have previously submitted an Income Verification for another child, the state will use your Income Verification that is on file.   2. Families that wish to only apply for the minimum scholarship ($616.60 for grades K-8), but do not wish to submit income information can now complete an affidavit, have it notarized and submit it via the income verification portal in your OHID. (You still have to enter a household income in the verification app in OHID; you can enter $999 for this.) This affidavit may only be used in lieu of income information for applicants who are applying for the minimum scholarship amount. Income Affidavit

Renewal – Current 8th Graders

For renewal for current 8th graders of their EdChoice Scholarship, please submit the above documents to:

Eligibility Requirements:
Please note, in order to continue to receive your scholarship, children may not have more than 20 unexcused absences per year (click here for a definition of unexcused absences) and are required to complete the STAR assessments in grades K-8 and the Ohio state science test in grades 5 and 8, as given by the school.
